Probably Baron (Michele?) Lazzaroni, Paris, France,{1} (Ehrich Galleries, New York, New York) by 1923;{2} purchased from them as St. Jerome by Giovanni di Pietro by the John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, Indiana, now the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, in 1924 (24.9); IMA deaccessioned June 2008; (Christie's, New York), 28 January 2009, Sale 2135, lot 200. {1} An old accession record notes that the painting was owned by "Baron Lazzaroni, Paris, 1919"; see Historical File 24.9. This has not been verified. {2}Temporary Receipt No. 64 indicates that it came to IMA from Ehrich Galleries.
