This gown was worn at the wedding of Peter Lambertus and Bertha Gassert, on December 11, 1912, in Indianapolis. This dress exemplifies the beginning of the trend toward a more comfortable style without boning or crinolines. There is emphasis on the sleeves with the double overlapping treatment and a draped shawl effect over the shoulders.
Mrs. Frank Lambertus, Indianapolis; given to the IMA January 15, 1975.
