Navajo people; (Cozy McSparron [1894-1959], Chinle Trading Post, Arizona) {1}; given in 1935 to Dr. Thomas Benjamin Noble, Jr. [1895-1959]; given to John Noble {2} Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1946; given to Patricia Noble {3} Miami Florida in 1976; donated to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1983. {1} Leon Hugh 'Cozy' McSparron along with his wife Inja McSparron encourged local Navajo weavers to create better quality weaving using vegetable dyes to sell to tourists. He was close friends with Dr. Thomas Noble, Jr. of Indianapolis {2} John Noble is the son of Dr. Thomas Benjamin Noble, Jr. (IMA historical file 1983.118) {3} Patricia Noble is the daughter of Thomas Benjamin Noble, Jr. and sister of John Noble (IMA historical file 1983.118)
