采油香炉

Yasokichi IV is the eldest daughter of Yasokichi III, who died in 2009. She is a graduate of Aoyama Gakuin Women’s Junior College, and officially became her father’s successor in 2010.

Yasokichi IV’s polychrome glaze continues her father’s innovative use of the greens, blues, and yellows traditionally associated with Kutani ware. The jewel-like knob is a fitting accent to this exquisite censer.

(Onishi Gallery, New York, New York); purchased by the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 2011.
