Between Good and Evil

Charlene Marsh (American, 1956-)

Artist’s Statement

Between Good and Evil typifies the theme of juxtaposing good and evil that runs through much of my artwork. My purpose as an artist is not to merely transform dyes and fiber into other objects, but to transform dyes and fiber into other objects, but to transform them into exquisite objects that uplift the human spirit.

In this piece, evil is represented by the archetypical snake, radiating angry red energy. Good is represented by a cluster of geode crystals radiating positive light energy
