North, Jr., Columbus, Ohio; given in part for a trade with another painting to the John Herron Art Institute, Indianapolis, Indiana, now the Indianapolis Museum of Art, in 1952.{1} {1} See Temporary Receipt No. 4700 for a record of this transaction. In correspondence between Francis Grubar and Paul North, the later said he purchased it from Baldwin's Book Barn, West Chester, Pennsylvania. When Grubar contacted them, they had no recollection of this painting. See correspondence, dated 25 July 1959 from Grubar to Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) in IMA Historical File (53.21).
