(John Levy Gallery, New York) ; purchased by (Newhouse Galleries, New York) in 1943; {1} Karl Zimmer, Indianapolis, in 1943; given by the children of Karl and Lorena Zimmer to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, now the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, in 1988 (1988.68). ------- {1}The cardboard backing of the painting bears a Newhouse Gallery label with the number 13149. Correspondence with Newhouse Galleries in 2004 linked this number with stockcard no. C7300D9 which records that the painting was purchased from John Levy in early November 1943, and sold to Karl Zimmer later that same month.
