Laguna Pueblo Mission Church

Ernest M. Hennings (American, 1886-1956)

Not Currently on View

Bright light and a cloudy sky heighten the strong geometry of the pueblo.

Hennings' canvases are calm, well ordered representations of the mystique of northern New Mexico.

The artist had a gift for capturing the spirit of his subjects.

The piece was purchased by Harrison Eiteljorg and donated to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1975.
