In this suit, Versace slashed the top front and back of the jacket and then used decorative safety pins to hold the garment together. A great example of deconstruction, one of the major fashion trends of the late 20th century, the fabric of the suit is permanently creased to further emphasize its "deconstructed" unfinished look.
