Marks on top gold band of mount on stem (Ajax cameo side): 1. Maker's mark for Jean-Valentin Morel, 2.) head of horse turned to the right (poincon de petite garantie) (warranty). Marks on top gold band at top of foot mount (Ajax cameo side): 1. Profile of bearded Greek man looking at right (poincon de garantie) (excise) 2.) Maker's mark for Jean-Valentin Morel engraved on underside of foot: 1855 Morel - Sèvres 750/1000 (18 carat gold)
