The legendary textile and clothing designer Fortuny is most famous for his hand-pleated dresses, which were designed to cling sensuously to the body.
He also specialized in producing luxury silk velvet textiles that incorporated Renaissance, Islamic and Art Nouveau patterns.
This spectacular floor-length kaftan is stenciled using various lotus, palmette and tree-of-life motifs inspired by Turkish and Persian patterns.
