The Goat

Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)

The thirty-two etchings of animals, birds and insects that Picasso made for Vollard in 1936 are among his most fanciful and free.  They are only loosely connected to the Comte de Buffon's thirty-six volume treatise on natural history published in the eighteenth century.
