Arizona Night

Burr arrived in Denver in 1906 and in Phoenix in 1924. Like many artists, Burr came west for health reasons and decided to settle. After his move to Arizona, Burr began his explorations of the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of which he became the prime interpreter in the form of his meticulous and moody etchings.

John G. Rauch; given to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1961.
