Hudibras Sallying Forth

William Hogarth (English, 1697-1764)

Sir Hudibras and his squire Ralpho heed the call from the pulpit, and as straight-laced Puritans they set out to put right the sinners of the world. They get the worst of every encounter.

Purchased with money from the John Herron Fund for the John Herron Art Institute, now the Indianapolis Museum of Art, in 1911.
