Hudibras Triumphant

William Hogarth (English, 1697-1764)


Having routed the idolaters, Hudibras parades the captured Crowdero through town. He claps Crowdero in the stocks while displaying his trophies of victory, Crowdero’s fiddle and case.

Purchased with money from the John Herron Fund for the John Herron Art Institute, now the Indianapolis Museum of Art, in 1911.
