Norell often looked towards Paris for inspiration. He was especially influenced by the designs of Balenciaga, who was admired by many of his contemporaries.
This cardigan coat, with jewel neckline and long set-in sleeves, is made up of multilayered silk organza. It is covered with silk millinery dahlias in white and various shades of pink and purple.
