The Artist; (PaceWildenstein, New York, New York); purchased by the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, Indianapolis, Indiana in 2008.
Working with such commonplace materials and found objects, Tony Feher highlights the unassuming beauty of everyday things. Chosen for their distinct visual and sculptural properties, these seemingly banal materials undergo a process of poetic transformation. In (10 Spot Buddy), Feher gives new meaning to disposable flasks of alcohol, encouraging us to reconsider the ordinary objects that surround us. No longer junk or garbage, these materials possess a markedly different status in their current environment.
