黒手組助六 (Kurotegumi Sukeroku)
His kimono decorated with symbols of playing cards, Sukeroku is the head of the Black Hand Gang. He loves the courtesan Agemaki. His rival, the rōnin Torii Shinzaemon, kills and steals the heirloom sword of a samurai who turns out to be Sukeroku's father. After much hardship and heartbreak, Sukeroku defeats Shinzaemon and recovers the sword.
