Dr. Steven Conant, Indianapolis; given to the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 1991.
Hopkins mastered the Japanese technique of color woodblock printmaking in Japan in 1904, which was evident in the sensitive floral woodcuts she produced in Paris where she and her husband settled in 1906.
At the onset of war in 1914, Hopkins returned to the United States and summered the next year in Provincetown where she associated with other woodblock artists she had known in Paris. In Provincetown she experimented with landscapes and figure subjects in the novel single-block technique. She returned to Paris in 1921.
