This wedding headdress consists of a small cap attached to red silk that drapes down the back of the bride. The geometric and floral motifs are skillfully embroidered in metallic threads. Colorful tassels edge the bottom of the headdress.
In Tunisia, as in many other Islamic countries, a young bride would begin preparing her trousseau from an early age. Red was a common color for the garments and head coverings of North African brides.
